Dont worry, this update is not about fragrances. I have been thinking about a few different things this past week, all more-or-less unrelated. The first is a bumper sticker i saw last sunday. I was at the beach for father’s day, and i was walking from the car to the beach carrying ten thousand things when i saw this bumper sticker: ”
i’m dying to live.” I thought to myself: “finally! someone’s got it!” That’s what it’s all about–people who realize they’re dying as they’re filling their lives with the things of this world. They’re going “nowhere fast” as they are searching and searching for life in different places. John 11:25.
In sunday school we were talking about different arguments people use to counter christianity, and somehow the year 70 AD came up in conversation. That’s when the romans completely destroyed the temple and sacrifices ended forever. It finally dawned on me that God was revealing himself through that destruction. You see, since Jesus is the supreme sacrifice, there need be no more sacrifices; His death served for all. Not too long after Christ ascended in to heaven, the sacrifical system ended. I just thing that only emphasizes what Jesus did on the cross.
Aside from that, i’m enjoying my alumnus status. That’s my roundabout way of saying that i’m so happy to be out of school. However, my routine is now gone, which leaves me less disciplined with spending time in devotions. I am asking for you to pray that i will figure out what time i’m most focused, and use that time for devotions. thanks.
the other nice part of summer is the food. i’m training to be a waiter at my work, and they
make (that’s right–make) us try food for free. In the last few days, i’ve had steaks, lobster raviolies, seafood raviolies, salmon, and every other food i would never pay even half price for. life is good.
