If you attend LPC and are checking out this blog, thank you. If there was any mistake in the envelope you received, i appologize. I had 74 envelopes, so i was remembering back to my statistics class when calculating the chance that 74 envelopes, each containing five items, went out without any mistake. needless to say, i’m sorry if there was an error.
Last night at work was not good. There was a serious “people problem,” which resulted in one man’s termination. I was caught up in it, and was a little…perturbed about it all, because there was no excuse for how he handled himself. So i found myself pacing the resturant, and i decided that i was going to remove empty glasses from tables. I passed by a booth, and asked the two ladies sitting there: “can i take these from you?” They nodded their heads and one said: “yes.” So i took them, turned around, realized something, then turned back to them and said to the older woman: “do you mind me asking you where you’re from?” She said: “sure lad, i’m from Scotland.” My face lit up, and i said “oh where about?” In lovely scottish brogue, she said “Glasgow.” I then said “wonderful! I’m living in Manchester next year.” She said “oh really? doing what?” i said “I’m going to be a missionary there.” She then said, in that deep scottish brogue with a smile on her face and her eyes on me, “so you love the LORD?” i said “yes, ma’am, more every day.” I then found out that she goes to St. George’s Tron, (“the Tron”) and we talked a few minutes about a certain former minister of that church. That short conversation turned the whole night around. God appointed an old scottish lady to remind me of his presence, and also to put a smile on my face. Praise the LORD, o my soul, praise the LORD.
