It was perhaps a week and a half ago that i noticed a person standing by himself near the door outside of the cafeteria at my school. I was on my way to the w.c. and made eye conctact with this individual. AT that moment the Holy Spirit worked within me, as i felt inclined to talk to this guy. But i didnt on that day, nor the next day, nor the next. Each time i saw him and made excuses to God why i wasnt going to talk to him, i thought about the blog entry i would write about talking to this guy- a blog entry about when my missions trip will start.

Well yesterday i finally talked to him. He was sitting in the corner by himself, and i went over to him, introduced myself and said "there is a spot at my lunch table." he said "no thanks, i just like chillin."

So, my point is that my missions trip doesnt start in september, or august, or tomorrow. it starts now.

I met someone else this past week. I went to the boys and girls club because i need to clock some volunteer hours. i met a fifth grade male who didnt want to participate in his grade's talent show act: a hip-hop dance routine. so i started talking to him, and he eventually showed me the books he was reading: two 500-page romance novels, undoubtadly with sex in them (the covers had two lovers embracing in a very intimate way). i can assure you that he is fully aware of what he reads in those books; he is a very smart boy. Thus i met an "outcast" and a 5th grade male who reads romance novels. The funniest thing is that those are just the kind of people God uses to do amazing things (e.g. john the baptist- a man who wore a leather loin cloth with camel hair, ate locusts and lived in the wilderness). I'll keep you updated if anything progresses with these two guys.
